Happy Friday!
This verse feels like it has stalked me recently… it just jumped off the page and I knew I had to memorize it that very day. It is that important.
“The wisest of women builds her house, but folly with her own hands tears it down” Proverb 14:1
WOW, what power we have. The power to build up or tear down. I know you and I both long to be the wisest of women.
So here are some I of I’s to BUILD your house, a little bit in every way:
Ideas for Intentionality
Marriage: Ever feel like you and your husband are just floating and not working towards big goals together? This weekly couple’s meeting sheet may be a help. And this blog post walks you through how we make goals together. And this is a fun video my husband and I did together on our anniversary with our top wisdom from 11 years of marriage.
Mama Challenge: Want a sweet moment with your kids this week? Try this…when they go to hug you, don’t break the hug first! See how long the hug lasts. It may surprise you!
Children’s Book About the Power of Home: Here is a sweet book my kids enjoy! It is refreshing to see illustrations with some “signs of life” in a home.
Spiritual Life: Nothing will make us women stronger for our families, more interesting, and more beautiful on the inside than getting the Word in our hearts. If you don’t have a Study Bible you love, grab this one. And this simple book finally demystified how to study my Bible.
Finances: I know people’s eyes roll over Dave Ramsey, but have you ever read his book? If you don’t love where you are financially, consider educating yourself on finances and making a change today. It has been HARD, but sooo worth it for our marriage and legacy. I know it can be the same for you!
Podcast to build your home: This podcast with Jennifer Pepito, Bringing Our Homes to Life through Sacred Rhythms is great. I recommend giving it a listen, because I know it will bless your motherhood and offer amazing ideas to build your home. I am excited to dig into her new book this week.
Dinner: This recipe no joke, takes 5 minutes to get in the oven and my husband said it’s one of the top things I have ever made.
Dressing for Success: Even just getting a couple of pieces of clothing I fit in while being postpartum has helped so much. I got this shirt lately and I have found myself wearing it until it REALLY needs to be washed haha. It might seem silly to pay a little extra for a t-shirt, but I can dress it up and down and the fabric is so nice. And I am still obsessed with these shoes. I wear them daily, but also wore them to a nice wedding.
Sending love,
Lana
P.S. Need to declutter? I have been going through this course and YALL I took 12 bags to donate the other day. 12 BAGS! It felt AMAZING. If you are sick of being a stuff manager, let her take your hand and guide you step by step through the home declutter process.
Pregnant P.S. This is my best natural birth strategy and I got this from the Amish. Might sound crazy…but what if there is something to it. 🧐
