Happy Friday!
One thing I noticed about myself a couple of years ago, is that I’m naturally critical.
I thought there was some virtue in this because I could see where things needed to be improved. The revelation I eventually had is that seeing the good is a way better trait to develop.
It is easy to see the flaws, it takes work to have vision for the good.
The question I leave you this week is:
Q: Where do you see a glimmer of good in the most challenging parts of your life?
For me personally, in a season of little sleep and most of my clothes not fitting 🙃 snuggling with my baby Corrie has been a huge highlight!
Here are some Ideas for intentionality that are encouraging me to see more of the good in this season.
Ideas for Intentionality
Getting Sunshine: Did you know that the recommendation for elementary-age kids is 3–5 hours outside daily?!? Wow! That’s a lot. This ninja course and this tree climbing set (both on sale now) have been a hit at keeping the backyard an enticing place to be.
Marriage Devo: Matt and I start our weekly meeting with this devotional, and it always helps us see the good in one another.
Snack gifts: One of the easiest ways to quickly start seeing the good is by giving. The kids and I mixed up a big batch of protein bites to share with some new pregnant mamas in our lives. We added this clean protein powder to the mix in Vanilla. This could be a fun Valentine’s treat too!
Podcast: We all know scrolling our phone first thing in the morning probably isn’t going to help us see the good. This podcast sheds some light on why we may be doing that and what to do instead. Apple Link and Spotify Link
Valentine’s Gift Idea: One of my favorite clean cosmetic companies, Just Ingredients, launched a men’s line this week. I snagged a set to give to Matt next week ❤️ I got the Cedarwood Spice. I don’t love their Eucalyptus scent, but the Mountain Pine might be nice too.
Sending love,
Lana
P.S. *GIRLTEACHME10 gets you 10% off of the men’s products and the protein powder 🙌
Pregnant P.S. I always do happy dances 👏👏 when mamas send me messages like this… Nicole said, “Although it was a very intense experience (with some extra challenges being in a hospital setting), the entire time I felt an undeniable peace. I didn’t feel fearful. Labor Without Fear was pivotal for me in being mentally prepared. I’m only 6 days postpartum, but I’m excited about my next birth.” If you need help getting ready for your upcoming birth, I would love to be a part of your birth prep journey!
