Happy Friday,
This week at a women’s conference I learned a mind-blowing skill that I wish I had known these last 18 years…how to share my testimony in 15 seconds or less.
Here is how you do it…
“There was a time in my life when I was _____ and _____, but then I met Jesus and now my life is marked by _______ and _______.”
Here is my 15-second testimony:
“There was a time in my life when I was looking to relationships/worldly success to fulfill me and living in secret sin, but then I met Jesus and now my life is marked by real fulfillment and freedom.”
I hope this tool will be helpful for you as you strive to share how Jesus has changed your life or stir how Jesus wants to come into those broken places of your life and give you real hope and healing.
Here are my Ideas for Intentionality this week that I hope will spur you on in your spiritual journey:
Ideas for Intentionality
Biography Reading: There is something about reading a biography that helps me step back and see the fingerprints of God over a person’s lifetime. One of my favorite mentors who has gone on to heaven is Elisabeth Elliot. I have been wanting to read her biography for years and finally just ordered it for myself. I am 3 chapters in and already so inspired!
Amazing Testimony: Jodi Eareckson Tada wrote the forward to the Elisabeth Elliot biography I just started. I didn’t know who she was, so I looked up her and found her story and, WOW, it is a must-watch!
New Podcast I Found: One of my all-time favorite Bible resources is the book Women of the Word. Well, guess what? There is a Woman of the Word podcast! Jen Wilkin is one of my favorite online mentors and her book is currently helping me as I guide some local college gals through learning how to read the Bible for themselves. Scripture Cards: Need to be reminded about who you are in Christ? I think we all do, and these little cards are a beautiful nudge to keep my mind on Christ as I walk around my home. They sit on a pretty stand and were made by a gal who has an amazing testimony herself.
Journaling: When I became a Christian I started filling up journals, now I have been through 30+ journals over the last 18 years. I give myself total freedom to say anything, talk to God, and process what I am learning in my Bible reading. There is no need to “do it right,” but instead get things out of my heart and mind with no filter. After tons of journals, I found I prefer journals with lines and hardbacks like this.
FAV Pens: I get that having a nice pen can sound a bit silly in regard to growing spiritually, but these pens just encouraged me to write more in my journal and enjoy the process a bit more. My kids have slowly stolen them for drawing. This pack is a great deal!
Not sure where to start?: The Study Bible version of the CSB and ESV (both on sale) are my favorite formats for a Bible. The notes at the bottom are super helpful. If you don’t have a Study Bible you love, consider grabbing one of these and jumping into the book of John. I did a whole free video series through the book of John. If you want access, just hit reply and I will send it over to you.
Sending love,
Lana
P.S. New YouTube Video Out: “24 Hours with a Newborn” This was my most requested video from you all! I am showing you real, messy, and ordinary life lately with a sweet new baby! The next video is coming up on Monday at 1pm. Got any YouTube video ideas, just hit reply and let me know ❤️
Pregnant P.S. Cool fact! Our brains make the decision 100% of the time whether we feel pain or not? The key is feeling safe and knowing the difference between a working pain and a hurting pain. God’s design is amazing! Pregnant and wanting to go natural? Come learn with me
