Homemade Taco Seasoning (to replace any taco packet)

Want to replace the taco seasoning packet in any recipe with a MUCH healthier option? This is an easy staple taco seasoning that I always have on hand.

Equipment

  • bowl or mason jar
  • funnel can be helpful (but not necessary)
  • measuring spoon set

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Measure out all your spices and put into a bowl
  • Mix all the spices together
  • Put in an airtight jar
  • Use 3 tablespoons of this mixture to replace standard taco seasoning packets

Notes

***What I love to do when making this recipe is to actually multiply the recipe by 6 to fill smaller mason jar. Will keep for 6-12 months in a jar with a lid up in the cabinet. 
**Simply change serving size to change the measurements if you want to make a whole jar of taco seasoning. 
*use for beef, chicken or shrimp tacos, taco soup, sprinkle on taco salads, use to make ranch taco salad dressing, or on Mexican street corn.
