Ideas for Intentionality 17/52: Hack for Overwhelm, Bonus Labor Videos, and Motherhood Encouragement

by Taylor Barrett

Happy Friday!

If you feel like there is wayyyy too much to do in one day, try this method:

It is called the BIG 3.

You choose 3 things that you believe are going to move the needle or even 3 things that just need to get done, but you limit the list to 3.

Sometimes we see ALL that we want to get done, so we make an insurmountable list… and then get bogged down in the details.

The truth is once we get going we have that magic momentum helping us out.

My big 3 today was to clean the outside windows, get the sticker off my side door with goo-gone, and to write this email : )

I would love to hear if you try the BIG 3 or about any other systems you use to combat the feeling of overwhelm at home.

Ideas for Intentionality:

Colloidal Silver + podcast explaining what it is: A handy thing to have in your family med kit is Colloidal Silver, but not all silvers are made the same. I spray this under my kids tongues when they are starting to feel sick and spray it on all wounds too. This is a podcast that educates you what Colloidal Silver is and how to use it.

New Alarm Clock: I just got a new alarm clock that I have been enjoying. I like that it wakes me up with light and nature sounds, but also that I can have zero light on the alarm clock at night.

Reading Curriculum: I have been so impressed with this curriculum this year after switching from the Good and Beautiful. I liked parts of the Good and Beautiful, but if you have kids with any reading struggles at all this curriculum is wayyy better.

New Protein Powder I’m Loving: Ok I was skeptical about the Strawberries and Cream Protein Powder, but WOW! I use raw milk, 2 cups of strawberries and 2 scoops of the protein powder. My kids LOVE it!

Popsicle Season: One hack is to take any left over smoothie and pour it into these molds. They come out perfect every time.

Teach Kids Theology: Theology is the study of God and his relations to, purpose for, and work within the created universe. This is an AMAZING resource I use with my kids and I have learned a ton myself with it!

What else am I working on?

I added 5 NEW Bonus videos to the Labor Without Fear course this week:

1. Talking about how to rebuke any shame for how our births may go

2. Good, Better, and Best on Birth Teams

3. How to Avoid Post-Natal Depletion

4. Thoughts on Pain-Free Birth (might be a hot take)

5. Your Birth Story

* Use Code INTENTIONAL for 10% off the course

 Video of the Week:

This week’s video is a Mom Life Playlist for you with over 64 videos. You can just let this play as you do laundry and dishes with the hope that it puts some pep in your step and keeps your mission as a mom front and center in your mind.

Sending love,

Lana

P.S. Switching out your clothes for Spring/Summer? This method has been transformational for keeping my clothes and my kids’ clothes minimal.

Pregnant P.S. Here is a video that I have on YouTube that many have told me helped them sooo much with their labor prep, I know it can do the same for you!

Watching and listening to other people’s birth stories can give us a better vision of what birth can look like for us! Watching videos of women giving birth may sound strange, but back in the day and still in many cultures, younger women were present for many births long before they gave birth themselves.  So…
