Ideas for Intentionality 1/52: New Year Mentality, Creating a Strong Family Bond, and a Closet Refresh

by Taylor Barrett

Happy Friday,

Here we are in 2026!

What I have been pondering over is that if we live the same way we did in 2025, we will get the same results as 2025.

Maybe there are areas that you crushed it in and you want to continue being faithful in those ways.

But I think if we are honest with ourselves, there are habits we would love to leave behind in 2025.

I think the BEST news for those bad habits is that by God’s grace and with His help, we CAN leave those bad habits behind.

What I have found to be key for me is this:

Blaming no one but myself and not waiting on anyone else to make the changes for me.

This has been such a freeing experience!

I hope you are excited about the year to come. When it comes to wanting to leave some toxic habits behind and pick up new disciplines, I hope that you will join me in realizing that no one can do these good habits for us. Ending the blame game can really bring a whole new freedom and energy to 2026!

I am personally focusing on making cleaning easier for everyone and staying on top of my health since I am postpartum:

IDEAS FOR INTENTIONALITY:

What I am taking daily and doing to stay intentional in this postpartum season:

Live it Up Green Powder:(one scoop of green powder + creatine + mineral drops + electrolytes in a mason jar with a lid and a shaker ball) I just throw it all in one jar to get it done with for the day!

The Milk Moon Postpartum Restorative Tonic: My dear friend Alleigh sent me a bottle of this tonic and I have been enjoying a big sip of it daily. It is power packed with nutrients and iron-building herbs and it tastes GOOD!

Reading: I am working my way back through the book I have talked about the absolute most in this email. If I had to have one book besides the Bible to remind me of truth and what matters, it is the Power of Christian Contentment.

Make Cleaning Easy for Us All: I am trying to make it as easy as possible for everyone to know what to clean and what to clean with, so I just ordered 2 more bottles of this concentrate. The concentrate makes 3 all purpose bottles of cleaner, 3 glass cleaner, 3 soap refills, 3 bathroom cleaner AND one bottle of laundry detergent. I just need to buy one thing and keep it simple in this season.

LANA15 gives you 15% off your purchase.

Journaling: It is still my goal to journal 3 pages a day and I do that most days. Just a straight stream of consciousness. It is part of how I pray, process my feelings and lay my worries at His feet. This is the one I am using now and this is the one I am eyeing next time.

*Want to learn more about my journaling method? See this video

Wise Phone: Want to stop having to use all your willpower to stop scrolling? I am still using my Wise Phone and loving it. I listen to podcasts, audio books, the Bible, send Venmos, take pictures, and use Waze for directions, but I have ZERO temptation to scroll on my phone, because it isn’t an option. GIRLTEACHME gives you $25 off your phone.

P.S. Want to be inspired this year to skip all the excuses? This was an amazing YouTube video (SKIP the first 5 seconds if you would like to avoid an unnecessary curse word)  but I showed the rest of the video to my kids and they literally said, “Mom, if he has no excuses, I have none either.”
