Ideas for Intentionality 3/52: Beating Our Greatest Enemy, Solutions to Pain-Points, and My 6th Birth Story!

by Taylor Barrett

Happy Friday,

I have been thinking a lot about procrastination lately and how it is one of the most destructive habits there is.

It is almost the complete opposite of discipline and it is putting off what should be done today until tomorrow. And another way to look at it is delaying today’s pain until tomorrow.

This reminds me of a verse in Matthew that says:

Each day has enough troubles of its own… (talking about not being anxious for tomorrow).

But what might make us anxious for tomorrow is if I am compiling multiple days worth of troubles because I refuse to deal with the “trouble of today’s laundry” and it gets stacked on top of tomorrow’s.

I am excited for us both, because I really think even just becoming aware of what we are continually pushing off until later, and instead, just tackling it, can create BIG shifts in our lives!

IDEAS FOR INTENTIONALITY:

Let’s do I of I but the “Painpoint Version” this week:

Struggling with Hairloss:Just Ingredients just came out with a healthy scalp combo that pairs a serum you apply + a hair, skin, and nails complex. This is all about supporting the hair and scalp from the inside out.

Struggling with Fertility: I can’t recommend this book enough, it really helped me understand HOW a female body works and how to troubleshoot all the issues us ladies can have with our cycle.

Struggling with What to Wear in Pregnancy:Here are a couple of workout items I loved wearing in pregnancy that just felt so good on my belly. I am still wearing these yoga pants in postpartum, this bodysuit (on sale right now!) feels soft as butter and is supportive, and this workout top stretched nicely over the bump.

Struggling to Get Enough Protein in Daily: Adding a scoop of this protein powder to 2 cups of milk (raw if you can find it) is 40 grams of protein in one quick meal on the go.

Struggling with Self-Control with Your Phone: Save the self-control for other parts of your life and just switch to a less addictive phone. I love my Wise Phone and I will keep screaming from the rooftops about it because I literally do not have to use my precious willpower to stop scrolling anymore. It has helped me be a more present mom + it is about $700 cheaper than an iPhone!

Watching and listening to other people’s birth stories can give us a better vision of what birth can look like for us! Watching videos of women giving birth may sound strange, but back in the day and still in many cultures, younger women were present for many births long before they gave birth themselves.  So…
