Ideas for Intentionality 11/52: Toxic Beauty Trends, Dinner Hacks, and Useful Easter Finds

by Lana Sullivan

Happy Friday!

I did a YouTube video recently about how our beauty fades and this quote from Little Women sums up so much of what I shared…

“If you feel your value lies in being merely decorative, I fear that someday you might find yourself believing that’s all that you really are. Time erodes all such beauty, but what it cannot diminish is the wonderful workings of your mind: Your humor, your kindness, and your moral courage. These are the things I cherish so in you.” -Lousia May Alcott

The beauty you are building on the inside, the hidden person of your true character, this is what really makes us shine and makes us beautiful!

IDEAS FOR INTENTIONALITY:

Beauty Fades YouTube Video: In case you missed it when it went live, I would love for you to leave a comment and tell me your thoughts on this interesting trend in our culture today!

Inspirational Little Book: Have you ever read Let Me Be a Woman by Elisabeth Elliot? The chapters are just right for sleep deprived woman haha (me right now)😴

Help for Reading the Word: Here is a post that will help you get started reading your Bible in case you want to get started or need some fresh ideas.

Help with Mama Anger: This book is amazing! And here is a video where I honestly share about my struggle with anger.

Battling Sick Season: Be ready for sickness by having these dried elderberries on hand. I teach you how to make it in this video.

Feeling Blah in Your Clothes: Try getting some staple pieces from Neuflora, I look for the items with linen or cotton. The returns are free and super simple (but are for store credit only – just wanted you to know that part!)

WHAT ELSE AM I WORKING ON?

I was on Gracenotes this week which is a NEW podcast by Grace Thomas who has written articles for Risen Motherhood and the Gospel Coalition.

Her whole podcast is about helping young women embrace motherhood with renewed minds. Go check out the podcast where I chat about switching over to my light phone and how to renew your mind for birth.

Labor Without Fear Update and Kind Words:

I am in the process of adding some new videos to my birth course! I got this amazing feedback this week from a mama who had her babe two months ago:

“It helped me internalize key truths that empowered me to progress during labor and trust my body to do what it was naturally designed to do. It also helped me stay connected to Christ, so I could truly labor without fear.”

VIDEO OF THE WEEK

PICTURE OF THE WEEK

This is Green Chicken Chili in Souper Molds from the Batch Cooking Video. Here is a blog post that shares the actual recipes too!

Sending love,

Lana

P.S. Here are two sweet Easter items that I found! I have been reading this little book with my kids and I am eyeing this sweet little Easter tomb scene.

Pregnant P.S. Wanting to know what to expect after birth? Here is what my experience has been like.
