Ideas for Intentionality 11/52: 🧘‍♀️Stop Stressing About Stress, The Mom-Burnout Toolkit, and a 2-Minute Choc-PB Smoothie

by Taylor Barrett

Happy Friday,

I don’t know about you, but I can handle a lot of stress up until a certain point, then I just break.

Something I heard someone say that has helped me a lot is that stress is not the problem, it’s the management of the stress.

The most freeing thing is realizing that God gives us free will to choose.

When I realize that I am blaming my husband or my kids for difficulties in my life, I can choose to lean into God’s Word that says:

“Come to me all who are burdened and heavy laden and I will give you rest. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:30).

This is something that we have to practice and work at!

There are many strategies I use daily to help me manage my stress that I share in this video, but for this letter, I will share specific items that can help manage stress:

IDEAS FOR INTENTIONALITY:

Items to Help with Stress:

New Maganesium Tallow – Toups & Co New Product: Toups & Co just launched a new Magnesium Tallow Balm this week! Magnesium is sooo helpful for the body and absorbs well through the skin.

Change the Light in the Home:UsingAmber light bulbs and beeswax candles in my home has seriously changed the atmosphere. My kids even love it and ask for it!

Triggers Book: This is a book that my husband and I will sometimes read together as a devotional. It is a great reset and helps us see the things or reasons we may get stressed.

Stress Journaling: Journaling helps me so much to clear my mind and gain a new perspective on stress. Here is a blog post I wrote with tips for journaling!

Nothing Beats Time in the Word and Talking to the Lord about Stress: I love this new Bible design coming out!

Get the Blood Flowing to Beat Stress: I show some of what an at home workout looks like in my video this week. But here is a small list of the equipment I use the most at home.

Help For Handling Stress as a Mom – As a Mom of 6, I can tell you life gets stressful sometimes. Through lots of trial and error I want to share REAL HELP! I know what it is like to feel like a failure, lose my cool, and have to apologize over and over. You don’t have to walk this road of motherhood alone!

    ON THE BLOG

Healthy EASY Banana Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie Recipe – This is my go-to when my kids are hungry and I need to feed them fast! We do this MULTIPLE times a week and they never complain!

Sending love,

Lana

P.S. You have probably seen this video before, after all, it has 56M views, but it always amazes me that God made moms this resilient.

Pregnancy P.S. I firmly believe that if you are pregnant you will feel sooo much better if you keep moving. But it never fails, I forget that I need some new workout clothes because I always rehome mine to a friend who is pregnant. These are my fav yoga pants, workout shorts and tank. I am still wearing them to workout postpartum too!

Happy Friday! One question that has been changing so much for me lately is this: Is God first in this part of my life? If He isn’t first, it is going to lead to all kinds of dysfunction and even addiction.  And this definition of addiction helped me so much: trying to find life in anything other…
