Ideas of Intentionality 17/52: Best Buys of Last Year, The Question I Can’t Get Out of My Head, and the Books I Buy Over and Over

by Lana Sullivan

Happy Friday!

One question that has been changing so much for me lately is this:

Is God first in this part of my life? If He isn’t first, it is going to lead to all kinds of dysfunction and even addiction.

And this definition of addiction helped me so much: trying to find life in anything other than Jesus. Whew! This just got me.

I have been trying to find life in so many different things or even people throughout my life, and what do I have to show for that? Nothing but dysfunction in those areas.

But where God is first in an area of my life, there I can see life, growth, and abundance.

So I have been really pondering what it looks like to put God first in my marriage, my parenting, my housework, my homeschool, finances, relationships and on and on.

I hope this encourages you too as you ponder this question!

IDEAS FOR INTENTIONALITY:

I thought it would be fun to share my FAVORITE Amazon purchases from the past year that are holding up and still helping me and my family:

Little Girl Bows and Fav Hair Ties: These simple little girl bows have been such a sweet way to get the girl’s hair out of their faces and I love these hair ties that don’t rip our hair!

Fav Sketch Book:My son loves these, but I also really enjoy them for planning videos or brainstorming!

Muffin Cupcake Liners: These just elevate any muffin or cupcake! We made muffins with these today and my 7 year old said, “Wow! These are fun and fancy!”

The Books I Love to Send Family and Friends: Always the Power of Christian Contentment and The Whole and Healthy Family!

Dry Erase Laminating Sheets: So handy for chore charts or anything with homeschool! You just need a laminator.

Cotton Soft Baby Blanket: Ok I know we all have too many baby blankets haha, but I found myself after my 6th baby actually not having any good baby blankets for a boy. This one has only gotten softer and softer and I personally just love how it feels like a soft linen quilt. It would be so precious to give as a gift and even have the baby’s name or Bible verse stitched on it.

Toddler Girls Outfit: This little cotton outfit set has been a GEM and has been so easy to get stains out of. And these cutie white ruffle socks have been a hit!

Amber Booklight that the Kids Fight Over: Yes, it is a throw down over this warm soothing amber book light. But I also used this booklight to help me change the newborn diapers and get setup to breastfeed in that first month of so. I left it clipped to my lamp!

OK, I only made it back to Sept 2025 so maybe we will do part 2 soon! 🙌

*I am doing more research on this topic (keeping the shower clean and free of mildew aka mold), so I shall report back. Please share what you know!

***And the Neuflora April Launch 🩵 just went live this week! I love the tanks (they hold up and are totally cotton so they are easy together stains out of) I wear their clothes multiple times a week, and I am grateful for good quality fibers that hold up! GIRLTEACHME10 gives you 10%

LABOR WITHOUT FEAR

Did you know I have a birth course?

After 6 natural births, I have loved getting to walk women through how to approach labor with faith instead of fear. There is so much I wish I knew before my first few births. This course is how I am passing along the knowledge and skills I wish I had to begin with.

*and working on a breastfeeding course now too! Let me know if you are interested in being one of the first to go through that course!

    ON YouTube:

When you are fed up with procrastinating and want to know how to get going even on exhausting days!

Sending love,

Lana

P.S. I am relistening and taking notes on this book again, and it is firing me up all over again on how important Biblical literacy is 🫶

Pregnancy P.S. Hard when seasons change and your belly is growing! These tanks are just so good to wear around the house and these skirts are all just the best for a growing belly!
