Ideas for Intentionality 18/52: 🎵 My Greatest Mindset Tip is Stolen from the Bible, Tried and True Must Haves, and the Song of the Season

by Taylor Barrett

Happy Friday,

I was working on a blog post this week on loving God with all of my mind, and I wanted to share this tidbit with you:

It is really hard to rejoice in the day that the Lord has made when I am mentally way out in the future. The Bible says that worrying does not add a single day to our lives.

I believe that loving God with our minds is committing ourselves to today.

We don’t have to be strong for tomorrow, we just have to rely on His strength today.

Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit

Galatians 5:25

Galatians 5:25 is my husband’s favorite verse. He sees it as a father’s footsteps in the snow and a little child following after him, stepping in his father’s footsteps. The child stays right behind the father. He isn’t trying to get in front of his father or forge his own way. He is trusting that by stepping in his father’s footsteps, he will get where he needs to go.

I don’t know what I will be dealing with tomorrow, but I can be faithful in the next 5 minutes.

I hope this encourages you this week to love God with all your mind by being faithful in the moment you’re in right now! You can read the rest of this blog post here.

IDEAS FOR INTENTIONALITY:

Here is Part 2 of my favorites from my Amazon purchases this past year that are still going strong and are super helpful! You can read the first part of this list here.

The Sweetest Water Color Books: My kids broke these out again today. I love how the book gives a step by step tutorial on how to achieve the picture and the picture is already sketched in what looks like light pencil.

Amber Light Bulbs: I have loved these around the house for that low light amber glow that reminds me of fire vs. overstimulating light that keeps us all up longer than we need to be.

The Best Locks:These locks have been great at the top of our master door and my husband’s office door. Need some personal space? These locks are a lifesaver.

Watercolors: This is the second time I have ordered this set! We of course use it for watercoloring when you want to get a specific color but we also use it to color homemade playdough.

The Prettiest Poster: I have this hanging in our homeschool space, and it is just the right pop of pretty color!

Lego Idea Book: Tired of buying lego kits for $49 that they just fly through in 30 mins? This book gives them endless projects! My son has two of these books, and it will be perfect this summer to keep your boy’s minds busy building amazing projects.

Natural Fiber Dish Washing Brush: This has been so handy! These are nice because they don’t shed microplastics and the natural fibers dry quickly to help keep the brush more sanitary.

LABOR WITHOUT FEAR

Did you know I have a birth course?

After 6 natural births, I have loved getting to walk women through how to approach labor with faith instead of fear. There is so much I wish I knew before my first few births. This course is how I am passing along the knowledge and skills I wish I had to begin with.

Loving God with All Our Mind in Motherhood

Sending love,

Lana

P.S. This worship song’s lyrics have been my jam this week! My fav line is: “The weapons of the enemy, They have no power over me, The One with all authority covers me.”

Pregnancy P.S. Do you struggle with varicose veins in pregnancy? I never did til my last pregnancy. My midwife had me take Butcher’s Broom and it helped!
