Ideas for Intentionality 44/52: Is it Too Early For Christmas?, The Best Protein Powder, and Answering Your Questions

by Taylor Barrett

Happy Friday,

Matt and I joked that it would be so great if when the clock struck midnight tonight, our Christmas lights went on! 😂

I know this is absolutely absurd to my friends who love to wait for Thanksgiving… and you are probably thinking, “for goodness sakes Lana, it’s Halloween today!”

But we are excited about the Christmas music that will be playing on Saturday morning over at my house!

Even though we will be using tonight to try and get to know our neighbors better (when else can we just go knock on their door and introduce ourselves without seeming weird?).

I hope you have a vision of what you hope your Christmas season will be like. I know the average person is simply aiming at getting their kids presents that they are excited about and not disappointing their kids.

And yet, there is so much MORE we can aim for this Christmas season. Yes, the gift guides are handy! Yes, let’s make it memorable and sweet, but more than that…

Let’s give our families a beautiful reminder of what Christmas is all about.

Here are even more Ideas for Intentionality for the fun, festive season ahead:

IDEAS FOR INTENTIONALITY

Whole List of Christmas Items: I told you last week that I am serious about prepping early for Christmas.

  • Here is a list of all the decorations and wrapping I have gone ahead and gotten before prices spike after Halloween.
  • Want to be ready for Christmas by Thanksgiving? Here is a post that will give you my top tips!

Helpful Baby Outfits as it Gets Cold: These are some handy clothing hacks to help stretch a baby’s/toddler’s wardrobe as it gets cooler outside…

  • Sweater Onesies: These are amazing for boys and girls, you layer them over their other little outfits when you go out for a walk etc. This one is a great option to have in different colors and I love that it is mostly cotton. Although the bonnet never fit great on this one, we wore and wore and wore this sweater outfit.
  • Puffy Onesies are great for when it gets freezing to keep going on stroller walks, babies still need sunshine and so does mama. These puff onesies were also great for snow.
  • These are my favorite bonnets ever! They are from ETSY, but totally worth paying a little shipping. They look like baby gnomes and the bonnets have perfect stretch!

Back on the Protein Train: I told y’all last week how I am really focused on high protein meals to finish out my pregnancy. This helps avoid tons of weight gain and helping me battle low energy and anemia. Here is the taco soup I made last night that is power-packed with protein.

Protein Review: I love and trust Just Ingredients Protein Powder and I have tried just about ALL the flavors. Here is a post where I compare all the flavors and share which ones are our favorites and how we use them. I added a scoop of the French Vanilla to our pancakes this morning. It all adds up and keeps the kids fuller longer. GIRLTEACHME10 gives you 10% off

Perfect Gift for Friends, Teachers, and Family: I promise these calendars will NOT disappoint. I have been using them no joke over the last 8+ years for myself and for gifts (they sell out quickly so don’t wait!)

-The artist watercolors them all year little by little+ adds calligraphy scripture. And every year it has a new theme!

This year’s is the Fruit of the Spirit!!!! 🍓🍉🍊🍋🍍

NEW ON YOUTUBE

Mom Chat – I took some of your questions and made a Q and A. If you didn’t see your question answered, I will add it to the next one (little girlies woke up earlier than I thought while I was filming haha)

*do you have questions you would love to add to the next Q and A? Can you add them in the comments of this video and I will make a note of them all!

    ON THE BLOG

Protein Powder Review – Adding a scoop of protein powder to your day can take you a ¼ of your way towards your protein goals! It is such an easy and bioavailable way to get more protein in, but how do you know which protein powder is right for you? I wrote a post to help you out with that choice!

    LABOR WITHOUT FEAR

I got this super sweet comment from a mama this week! Need help prepping for birth? I would love to share all I have learned from 5 births and now prepping for my 6th! That is what my course, Labor Without Fear, is all about.

Sending love,

Lana

Happy Friday, I got some really good questions this week from you all, here are a couple… Is Christmas pagan? Should we celebrate Christmas if the Bible doesn’t command us to? My best advice for discipline (whew, always a hard one to answer) AND what resources have guided me the most with parenting/discipline? And then,…
