Ideas for Intentionality 7/52: Getting Your Pink Back After Baby, Crushing Productivity with Kids at Home, and Breaking Free from Phone Addiction

by Taylor Barrett

Happy Friday,

Have you heard that saying about the flamingo and how they lose their pink for a while after having their baby?

My baby is 2 months old and whew!

I am feeling like I have certainly lost my pink haha. After 6 babies I know this too shall pass, but it left me going brain-dead in the middle of my conversations with the Trader Joe’s cashiers this week.

Baby Asa is a million times worth the extra baby weight, brain fog, and just blah I feel at times…

Maybe you can relate to not feeling your best or wondering if you will ever get your pink back, as the old saying goes.

Here are some Ideas for Intentionality to get some pink back into our lives while we embrace the season we are in:

IDEAS FOR INTENTIONALITY:

Iron for Energy:I am working on getting my iron up. I asked in my Restoration Home group and there were some great suggestions. If you do not have MTHFR mutation, Blood Builder is great. Others recommended Floradix (my midwife agreed on both of these options). Another gal suggested Molasses Organic Unsulfured (for natural iron + has tons of natural minerals too), so going to add that to my daily regiment too.

Movement: really really trying to move my body daily with a walk + 10 mins or so of body weight and light weights.

Battling Postpartum Blues: Personally, I struggle with feeling like a dark cloud is over me when I breastfeed and get to month 3-8ish. I talked with my midwife and made a game plan. I REALLY do not want to go through that again. She recommended D3K2, BComplex, Iron and lots of good Magnesium. I actually scheduled a meet up with her in 2 months to make sure I am well too! I have never done this after being discharged from my midwife’s care, but I just need someone checking on me. (sharing bc I know I can’t be the only one who struggles)

Electrolytes + Minerals + Creatine: I put a scoop of this in a mason jar with a shaker ball and then add a couple of drops of mineral drops + one scoop of creatine. There are sooo many benefits of Creatine for cognitive function (AND I need that bad in postpartum haha). I use this Creatine.

Jean Haul: I grabbed 3 pairs of jeans from Neuflora to try on. Such a relief to wear normal jeans after pregnancy. I am sending two back (too tight) and I kept one. I know some women don’t like buying clothes for postpartum bc our body is in flux, but having clothes that FIT helps me mentally! Neuflora February drop happens on the 18th!

When It Feels Impossible – Even if it feels like we went in circles all day, but there are kids that were loved, we did a lot! God sees all our hidden work and it matters to HIM!

P.S. An interesting little song for us women to think about. The twinge of bitterness is a real tool the enemy can tempt us to defend ourselves with in marriage. But it only hurts us and those we love most. Jesus shows us how forgiveness is a way more loving and powerful tool! I love that they released this for Valentine’s Day!

Pregnancy P.S. Did you just find out you are pregnant? Do you want this pregnancy and birth to look different than last time? Let me help you! I have help for a healthy pregnancy, how to hire a great birth team, and how to get your heart and mind ready for birth packed into this course for you!
