Are Toups and Co Organics Worth the Price? My One Year Experience

by Lana Sullivan

After ONE whole year + of using Toups and Co Organics products I want to share my honest thoughts. Are Toups and Co Organics worth the price?

Toups and Co Products Review

I am not a skin care professional, but I am a busy homeschooling mom of 6 whose family lives on one income. So when I buy products they need to pull their weight and they need to last awhile if I am going to spend good money on them.

Also, I am a fairly crunchy mama who is putting on makeup to feel good and alive, not to dress up for big nights on the town. Taking 5 minutes to do some basic skincare also just makes me feel better as a mama who is pouring out all day.

I am not trying to look 20 when I am 37, but I do like to take care of my skin best I can.

Before we jump into what I think about Toups and Co products let’s tackle some of the questions I had when I first found Toups and Co.

What is Toups and Co Organics?

Toups and Co Organics was started by Emilie Toups after her daughter had terrible eczema and her family started rendering their own tallow. They called Tallow their liquid gold, because it did help clear up the eczema.

Their goal is to go beyond nontoxic standards to use nutrient dense materials, mainly inspired from plants and animals that actually feed your skin.

Our skin is our bodies largest organ so it only makes sense to put on our skin what our body recognizes and what nourishes it.

What Makes Tallow from Toups and Co Different than other Tallow?

Tallow is amazing because it is 98% bioidentiblical to our skin vs plant oils. Our skin cells crave the amino acids that are in tallow. So when you are wanting to feed your skin tallow is great skin care.

These amino acids that are in tallow can be damaged when rendered at high heat, but Toups and Co uses low heat for keeping amino acids in tact.

Toups and Co tallow is from 100% grass-fed and grass-finished beef. This is important because you are going to get around 4x as many vitamins and minerals from grass-fed and grass-finished products as you would from grain-fed beef.

Also, there are no fillers in Toups and Co tallow. The only thing you might see added is olive oil (to help it blend better) and essential oils.

If you have ever tried regular tallow it smells like BEEF, but not the tallow from Toups and Co.

It really does smell so good, that you would have no clue it came from beef if you were to smell it! My favorite tallow is the Frankincense one, but I also love the Sweet Girl tallow smell!

Is Toups and Co Organics a Clean Beauty Brand?

Yes Toups and Co is not only a clean beauty brand, but I believe they are using ingredients that our ancestors used that are clean and from the earth without all the chemicals that are commonly found in “clean or non-toxic” brands.

They go beyond the EU’s standard’s and have a huge never list that they promise to not use. This is important, because many autoimmune diseases can in part be from all the liver build up from what we put in and on our body.

Also, they never ever use fragrance, which is the #1 offender in beauty products (even those who claim to be non-toxic or clean). Fragrance can literally be 100’s of chemicals that can completely wreck our hormones, but because fragrance is “trade secret” companies do not have to list out the ingredients in fragrance on labels.

Toups and Co uses essentials oils instead and I promise you won’t miss the fragrances as all. Everything smells so good! Especially the Sweet Girl Tallow, the Seabuckthorn Cleaning Oil and Glow Serum with Jasmine (SO GOOD!)

The Best Toups and Co Products and Worth the Price?

#1: Seabuckthorn Cleansing Oil

I barely have to use any of this cleansing oil on my skin at night to take off my makeup. I keep it in my shower and use about the size of a dime’s worth and I massage it into my skin with the warm water. It takes off all my mascara and foundation from the day.

What I love about the cleansing oil is that it takes off my makeup without stripping my skin and I love the smell too! It might seem expensive but I usually can make a big bottle last 3-4 months.

Even if I put nothing else on my skin at night it feels nourished and hydrated.

#2 All the Tallows

The tallows are the all around all star. We use tallow for sooo many things in my house. It is a nutritional powerhouse that really helps the skin with healing. And I often rub my face down with the frankincense tallow at night.

#3 Liquid Foundation

I am a big fan of how smooth this foundation is. I apply it with my hands and it doesn’t feel like it sits in my fine lines. It has natural sun protection in it and I know that I am not harming my skin just by choosing to wear foundation that day.

I highly recommend trying the samples to get your color just right!

Toups and Co Foundation and Concealer

#4 Glow Serum

Ok this is a fairly new product to me. I have only been using it a week or so, but WOW the amazing smell of the real jasmine. It is a treat to put on my skin and I had Matt touch my cheek to see how smooth my face feels. And I am in the postpartum time when my skin normally is at its worst.

Toups and Co Glow Serum

I will say this product is pricey for how small the bottle is. You really just need a couple of drops, it goes a long way. This product did feel like a splurge that I may not always be able to keep on hand, but I can see a noticable difference in just a week of use.

For someone who is particular about smells-it has a heavenly scent. Non of that fake overpowering stuff, this is real from nature good scent. I really like this serum!

All of My Toups and Co Purchases

Seabuckthorn Cleansing Balm – You just can’t go wrong with this cleansing balm for taking off makeup and protecting the integrity of the skin without any harsh stripping of the skin. It is the product I immediately ordered more of if I start to even come close to running low.

Toups and Co Seabuckthorn Cleansing Oil

Vitamin C Serum – I use this in the morning and it seems to brighten my skin a bit.

Toups and Co Vitamin C Serum

Sweet Girl Tallow – My all around favorite tallow for many uses.

Toups and Co Organics Tallow

Frankincense Tallow – My favorite tallow for my face.

Toups and Co Frankincense Tallow

Glow Serum – Pricey, but wow it is effective.

Toups and Co Glow Serum

Liquid Foundation – Love it, but use the samples to get the color just right.

Toups and Co Foundation and Concealer

Concealer – Really like it, because it doesn’t sit in my fine lines, but it covers up some of the dark circles under my eyes.

Sunstick – Used this on the kids faces this summer and it rubbed in easily.

Mistletoe Balm – More of a manly scent: smells like fir trees, a fun seasonal purchase.

Toups and Co Tallow

Baby Wash + Baby Balm Set -This one was just ok, but didn’t feel necessary compared to all the other products. I just use the other tallows on my kids and babies.

Mascara – I would use again, but I think there are some other good non-toxic mascaras out there that might be more effective.

Bronzer -Really like how smooth this goes on and it is good color without being harsh.

Final Thoughts: Are Toups and Co Products Worth the Price?

I definitely think so for the Seabuckthorn Cleansing Oil, the Tallow, and the Foundation. I really like the Glow Serum and the Vitamin C Serum, but those products seem like a steep price point for 1 oz of liquid. And yet, I am enjoying those products a lot.

For it comes down to the fact that I think Toups and Co are doing things right and they are not an MLM that have to give big margins away. I believe in their high standards and I love that they are a family owned company without a bunch of investors to answer to.

I love supporting companies like this who are genuinely solving a problem for us mamas-clean makeup and skincare we can feel good about. That is worth the extra money to me!
