Happy Friday! Just after Christmas, Matt and I went away to Black Mountain, NC to plan for the New Year. This trip has been a really sweet tradition we have enjoyed for the last couple of years. I have heard it said that “a vision for the future creates passion for the present.” Here’s a video I created last year about the process we used to plan out our vision for the new year. It isn’t too late to set aside some time to dream and plan for 2024 (one year we did the trip in February, and that’s the year we paid off all our debt!) Are you looking for a good podcast? I’ve listened to this episode by Elisabeth Elliot 7-8 times (no joke!), and I keep it saved for the hard days. (Apple Link or Spotify Link) I have a CRAZY sale that you need to know about! Go quick because it ends today. Just Ingredients is giving you 20% off whatever you put on subscription…FOR LIFE. How crazy is that?! We set our protein powder on a four-week schedule and the tooth powders on an 8-week schedule. Then, we added the remineralizing mouthwash and electrolytes on a 90-day subscription. I love that their tooth powders are made with hydroxyapatite. WHY DO YOU LOVE THIS? We have been on a journey with teeth since some of my kiddos developed cavities, so I have been trying to make some changes with their dental routine and educate myself because cavities ain’t cheap! I also chose to take my kids to a homeopathic dentist and have learned some of the various causes of cavities. Our dentist highly recommended: 1. Flossing with flossing picks (these help you to see their mouth better). 2. Swishing with mouthwash 3. Brushing our teeth with the powder without rinsing Matt and I use the cool mint whitening powder and the kids use the citrus powder. The powders take some getting used to; make sure you don’t get the toothbrush too wet when you dip it into the powder-it makes it like clay (I’m speaking from experience). Currently, I am re-reading one of my favorite books, The Power of Christian Contentment by Andrew Davis. I love seeing all the notes from past readings. My favorite chapter is called “Contentment Through Suffering.” Davis says, “Contentment is the greatest state of inner well-being one could ever have in this world.” I didn’t realize how much I was grumbling about little inconveniences until I read this book. So, if you need a book that will support you in becoming a more faith-filled woman, this is a great choice. As I said last week, if you found me through “The Pregnancy Survival Guide” or if you are pregnant, I would love to continue to share my experience on natural birth. Click here to get on that list. Thank you to those of you who reached out to share your ideas on intentionality and gave your honest feedback on last week’s email. Sending love, Lana |
