Ideas for Intentionality 19/52: Flooding Bathrooms, Mullets, and Roundup Favorites

by Lana Sullivan

Happy Friday,

This has been one of the hardest weeks for me as a mom lately.

Nothing big except my toddler flooding our bathroom (I didn’t realize it until the water started dripping on my husband’s desk downstairs). 🙃 Did I mention the same child cut her hair into a mullet two weeks ago that had to be repaired with a cute french bob cut?

I know those are small things in the long run and will be stories worth telling one day.

But in all seriousness, I have been in bit of a survival mode with mama life. I know some of you all feel the same. I have been comforted with the thought that Jesus sees the inside of us and the outside.

He sees our struggles with whining kiddos and temptations to numb out on our phones, but he also sees our heartfelt desire to be the best woman we can be for our family.

I thought this week it would be fun to share some of the most popular I of I’s that you all have liked over the last 19 weeks:

Ideas for Intentionality

Home Items You Have Loved:

Laundry Basket Swap: If we are going to do so much laundry can we at least make it pretty? That’s all I am saying. Swapping my laundry baskets over slowly has been one way I try to make the functional duties of the home a little prettier.

Dish Brush: Laundry and dishes, if we can make those two jobs a bit better, on the eyes I think it goes a long way to help with enjoyment.

Cover Your Tissues: Tissue box companies try to make the boxes pretty, but yikes they just stick out like a sore thumb. So these handy tissue box covers have been a fan favorite for the very reason that it’s nice to have a tissue nearby. Also, can they be pretty please?

Books You Have Loved:

(these aren’t library books these are keepers for the home library 🫶)

#1 Children’s Book You Liked: Ah this is such a sweet book! It is all about a young girl who is worn out from taking care of her baby duck 🥹 Just trust me, it’s precious and also, I need to go read that book again after the week I have had. 🙃🙃🙃

#2 Children’s Book You All Liked: This book is based on a true story, it is so inspiring! My kids love to find the child in the story who is their age. I think it gets their wheels turning on how blessed they are and how these kids preserved and came together as a family.

Outfits You All Liked:

Lounging: Yes I know it is getting to be warm, but I still find myself reaching for the top of this outfit around the house or the bottoms with a tank around the house. The pants run a little short if you are tall and I sized up.

Make it Pink: This jumpsuit was one of your favorites and I see why. If you are tall just know it runs a little short, but wow, it is flattering and perfect for summer.

Summer Picks:

Electrolytes + Minerals + Ice: this is a perfect replacement for all kid’s Gatorade for the summer and is our family’s go-to summer drink. And you all loved this as a replacement for the Stanley too.
