Happy Friday!
We started school here at my house again this week. It felt good to click back into some rhythms and routines. Each day, my kids keep asking:
What are we doing today?
What are we doing tomorrow?
Good questions, but it is going to take awhile for them to process – the plan most days is that we are doing school.
It makes me think about how we can get out of our personal rhythms and the little habits we’ve created to just start looking for the dopamine hit of the day.
But really and truly, what feels good is growing little by little, working on those disciplines and habits, and seeing progress on our goals… even if it takes time.
I think just seeing progress in ourselves, our homes, our marriages, and in our kids, even if it is micro progress is one of the most encouraging and energizing experiences we can have as mamas.
Here are my ideas for intentionality this week to put off the old ways with the help and power of Jesus and to put on love above all. Cheers to slowly but surely refocusing on the micro-habits and routines that can help us see the growth we are craving!
Ideas for Intentionality:
Reading with the Kids:
The Ology:This amazing pretty picture book brings hard concepts about God down to the bottom shelf for kids (and parents!) Even if you have littles, reading it together will give you language to explain hard concepts to kids.
The Trumpet Swan: I JUST realized that this old book was written by the author of Charlotte’s Web and Stewart Little. I could barely read it aloud this week, I kept laughing and crying it was so funny. My kids kept saying mom, just read it and stop laughing.
Precious People: I got my Peaceful Press curriculum in the mail this week! So exciting! You can get the digital download and then have it printed by Humble Heart Press for a discount. Wow! I am so impressed with how nice the printing is!

Health Lately:
Health Wisdom for Caring for Kids: Started reading Be Your Child’s Pediatrician and wow I am learning sooo much! Her wisdom is split up by ailment, so we can flip to a section based on what is going on and get some quick wisdom on next steps. She isn’t anti-doctor, she is pro doing what we CAN from home, when we can.
Green Powder: The kids and I drink a little cup of Live it Up in one of these small stainless steel cups before we get a snack and go outside between seat work and morning time. Not all of them love it, but it is an easy way for us all to get some probiotics and good stuff in our bodies.
My Favorite Outside Sanity Tool: I was writing a blog post this week on my top 5 baby items and I realized my deep appreciation and thankfulness for my Bob Stroller. I know there are so many nice strollers out there, but having bike tires on your stroller is a game changer for walking daily on different terrains. I use my stroller daily and just getting out for a walk is such a mama break. I started with the single, but use the double now.
New Water Strategy: Since I am home MOST of the time, I am just drinking my water out of these ½ gallon masons on the counter and I grabbed these super long straws to go with it. My husband liked the ideas so much that he has been doing it too. Y’all it WAY upped my water intake!
Intentional Closets:
Neuflora Drop: One of my favorite clothing companies just released their August collection. I grabbed some cardigans to layer over dresses for the fall and even winter. There are some really good basics to create a wardrobe that mixes and matches easily.

How to Make a Peach Ice Cream Cake
Ok, I know for some of you in the U.S. this post might be a bit late seasonally, but my friend in Colorado doesn’t even have peaches yet haha! Seriously this is how I make all our birthday cakes (talk about a money saver hack that the kids love!) The kids love this peach cake and I know you will too!

Sending love,

P.S. I worked out to this song this week and it clicked me back into my old college days when I really started walking with the Lord. Yall, I was in tears working out. Repentant for all the time I have wasted worrying about what others think of me and not being bolder to share my hope in Christ first and foremost. I could go on and on, but it refocused me. I hope it does the same for you!
Pregnant P.S. I made this video for you this week! There is help for every trimester.
