Ideas for Intentionality 42/52: How to Have a Low Stress Christmas, Family Photo Outfits, and Journaling for Clarity

by Taylor Barrett

Happy Friday,

Well I am hunkered in the basement as I write this! My kitchen flooded back in June and today is the day they are starting to install the new floor.

We have been living with the subfloor that had cracks between the slats so it looked like a haunted house if the light was on downstairs and it was dark upstairs haha (totally freaked out babysitters 😂

I am so very thankful that when we drop drinks it won’t be going all over the laundry room now haha!

For real though, it hasn’t been that bad. But I am ready to have the kitchen back to normal!

I have some fun things to share with you this week!

IDEAS FOR INTENTIONALITY

Book I am listening to and I am obsessed with so far: I got this book recommendation from a man who has read or listened to literally 1,000’s of books over the years and boiled it down to his essential 7 books. I love that the first book he would recommend is the Bible, so I felt I could trust the other 7 books a bit more.

One of the books is called: How to Worry Less and Live More. I have listened to the first chapter 3x so far! Can’t vouch for the other chapters yet, but let’s just say the first one was so meaty I had to relisten that many times!

Foundation: I was out of foundation recently when I was going to a wedding. I ran out to Sephora and tried some clean brands, but they just weren’t as smooth as my Toups and Co. So I returned the Sephora one and just got my Toups and Co in the mail.

Plus they have a 15% off sale going only until tomorrow!

Debate on Magnesium: So I know there is a debate on whether you get Magnesium better through a pill or through the skin, but my personal experience is that later in pregnancy, I get leg cramps… UNLESS I take salt baths. I have a noticeable difference in leg cramps at night when I am taking salt baths. These are the salts I am using right now.

Girls Sweater Shopping: My MIL was asking for girlie sweater ideas for gifts. These are the minimal cuties I found: sweater 1, sweater 2, sweater 3 + how about this cutie little Christmas sweater? 😍

Heads up on Neuflora Drop: Next Wednesday the 22nd is the October Neuflora monthly drop. If you are shopping for a dress for family photos I can’t recommend their flowy cotton dresses enough. I think those kinds of dresses always look soooo good in family photos.

Here is a blog post that shares more of what I mean.

Code: GIRLTEACHME10 Gets you 10% off your whole Neuflora purchase if you find a dress you love!

NOTABLE SALE

Toups and Co Sale! 15% off sitewide!

The items I order over and over from them:

  • Foundation
  • Concealer
  • Seabuckthorn Cleansing Oil (smarter way to take off makeup and not strip your natural face oils)
  • Frankencise Face Balm
  • Sweet Girl Tallow (all over my baby bump for stretch marks + best all purpose tallow for my whole family-chapped lips, noses, diaper rashes)

Happy Friday, I got some really good questions this week from you all, here are a couple… Is Christmas pagan? Should we celebrate Christmas if the Bible doesn’t command us to? My best advice for discipline (whew, always a hard one to answer) AND what resources have guided me the most with parenting/discipline? And then,…
