Ideas for Intentionality 49/52: 1 Chicken Down, No Lack, and Cozy Gear for Winter Season

by Lana Sullivan

Happy Friday!

One of our chickens was plucked up by a hawk. I literally pulled into the driveway to see a whole chicken (like you would buy at the store) flying 15 ft in the air, dangling from hawk’s talons. We found what remained of the chicken a couple of minutes later…we definitely shed some tears!

Then there is this verse that won’t leave my head…

Psalm 23:1, “The Lord is my shepherd, I have no lack.”

All to say, that the chickens really needed a shepherd outside. We had left them unattended to go to a friend’s house.

So glad that God looks after us a million times better than we do for our chickens, He is our Good Shepherd and we have no lack.

No lack. I know I feel like I have a lack sometimes. Lack of patience, lack of some kind of resource, lack of energy…but in Him do I really have lack?

He is ready and willing to be everything we need. Maybe the lack I feel is when I am trying to fill myself up with the world and feeling empty from it.

Thoughts to consider as we aim to be intentional this week in our lives as wives, mothers, or even just as women in this world.

Here are my weekly Ideas for Intentionality for you:

Ideas for Intentionality:

Inexpensive Jackets for Kids: I have bought these jackets the last couple of years in the green color, and now we are just passing them down in our family since they look great on the boys and girls. They are thick and cozy, but still easy enough to move in and hold up so well for the price.

Lace Up Boots: I got these in the mail from Adelisa and Co. and I am excited about styling these boots with some tights, socks, and dresses this winter. LANA10 gives you 10%

New YT Video: Why I Quit My Smartphone and a behind the scenes on using the Light Phone. Just my honest thoughts on what it has been like these last 6 months without a smartphone.

Surprisingly Yummy Caramel Popcorn Salt: I was skeptical about adding this popcorn, but WOW was I wrong. I made popcorn on the stove and then just topped it with melted butter and this caramel salt! Such a yummy Christmas season treat! Use code: GIRLTEACHME10 for 10% off your whole order.

Christmas YT Videos for You: Here is a little playlist of all my Christmas Videos for you! I want to inspire you to keep Christ at the center of your Christmas and help you push back on what the world tells you Christmas has to be.

Grab Advent Resources: In this video I show you all the resources I use for the Advent season to get your wheels turning on how you can form traditions that point your kids towards Jesus this Christmas season.

NEW Course: Tired of your home feeling chaotic, messy, and simply feeling triggered all the time? I have some help for you with this short but power-packed course that I did with Simple Living Expert Margaret Matheny!

P.S. Feeling Lonely??? This is an amazing sermon that breaks down that you and I aren’t the only lonely ones, but instead that there is a real problem in our culture and how deep friendships are vital and how to go deeper and create real friendships.

Pregnant P.S. Have you found out recently you are pregnant? I have a free pregnancy survival guide that could be a help to you! Many of you may not know that my birth course actually has a lot of videos that help you have a healthier and more enjoyable pregnancy too, bc a healthy pregnancy really helps you have an easier, low risk birth, so if you enjoy the free guide then you will love the course too!
