Happy Friday
We rode 8 hours this past week to go celebrate Mattās grandparentsā 70th wedding anniversary!!! They have lived through some hard times, but their love is still going strong.
When I asked Mattās grandmother, Ethel, what the secret was to staying married that long, she simply said two things:
1. There will be good days and bad days.
2. When you feel like criticizing one another, learn to keep your mouth shut.
While on the trip this week here are some Ideas for Intentionality I used or was inspired by that you might enjoy too:
Ideas for Intentionality
Audiobook I Started: Josh Axe is one of my favorite health practitioners. He is doctor that believes in getting to the root cause of illness vs just treating symptoms. He has found that changing your mindset is a HUGE part of healing and has used mindset shifts with his patients to help them heal. Through listening this week I have already uncovered a couple of limiting beliefs that have been tripping me up.
Clean Lotion that Smells Like Summer: I am extra sensitive to smells, but this body lotion smells GOOD. The consistency is perfect, and I don’t feel overly oily after. I didn’t love the Eucalyptus Mint lotion smell as much, but I am a BIG fan of Tropical Paradise. Smells like the beach š only with essential oils and not the fake stuff.
Favorite Shoes Lately: Wore these sandals to the anniversary party and WOW they are just so comfortable.
Clean Makeup: I didnāt want to share about this makeup until I had been wearing it for awhile, but I am happy to say it feels good even when it is steamy outside. My hang-up with makeup for so long was āwhy would I wear it often if it is damaging my skin?ā But this makeup is actually good for your skin. I recommend getting the sampler pack and then passing it on to a friend so she can get her color match too. I also ordered this concealer and this bronzer and I am happy with both.
Girl Birthday Ideas: We had a birthday this week for my 6-year-old daughter. I got her this scooter because it is the only brand of scooter that has held up over the years (we are hard on scooters and many have bit the dust). She had the 2-5-year-old version, but she needed to be upgraded to this bigger scooter. I also got her this helmet because many friends have shared how much they like it. It is a good snug fit and super cute!
Kid Swim Suits: I pulled all the swimsuits out of storage to swim at my in-lawās pool this week. These are great quality for boys and I like this set for girls.
Pregnancy and After Swimsuit: I bought this suit last year for the beach when I was 30 weeks pregnant, but I am 6 months postpartum, and it still felt good to wear.
Jesus Playlist for Summer: These are a couple of jams I enjoyed on my drive and have been playing while “trying” to start running again.
Electrolytes in a Shaker: My girls and I are enjoying this new pink shaker for mixing our electrolytes and mineral drops. I know, I know I keep talking about electrolytes, but they make all the difference in feeling better. Did you know 75% of Americans are dehydrated? Electrolytes can make a big difference and consider this swap for your kid’s sports drinks too, to avoid fake flavors and colors.
Sending love,
Lana
