Ideas for Intentionality 25/52: Tubing Hacks, 54 Books, and Summer Favorites ☀️

by Lana Sullivan

Happy Friday!

I met one of my favorite authors this week! He told me that, in his opinion, what a mother does for her children is the most important spiritual role around. I was so encouraged and felt so seen, because being a mama is the hardest, yet most rewarding job I have ever had.

The author is Andrew Davis and I have shared his book on contentment many, many times in this weekly newsletter. And I share more about his book in my new YouTube video: “10 Must-Have Books that Will Make You a Better Mama.”

And whew, summer is here! This week’s I of I are simple summer ideas and items that have made summer more intentional and FUN!

Ideas for Intentionality

Tubes for the River or Pool: I grabbed a couple of these tubes for Wild + Free Water Days that we do on Fridays. And PRO TIP make sure to get a battery-powered air pump to blow it up/deflate quickly or a plug-up one if you have a plug in your vehicle.

Backpack Picnic: I pack everything in here for baseball games these days. I grabbed a couple of these metal ice packs to keep things icy. They are thin enough to slide right up to a bento box. Another idea is to freeze water in small plastic milk jugs too. I also got a snackle box for charcuterie boards to go (just don’t dishwasher the lids, some friends had that happen and the lid melted a bit 🙃).

Creature Catcher: Going out to some creeks soon? The kids love to take this creature catcher with this little net. They have caught all kinds of creatures, and it’s fun because we get to take a good look at them and then release them.

Big Tea or Lemonade Jars: These jars are essentials in my kitchen. I have been making a big 1/2 gallon of tea lately. Just add water and tea bags and set them out in the sun for a while. Then boil some water with a bit of sugar to sweeten it. I also use these jars when I go pick up raw milk or to soup in the winter. These lids are super handy for pouring and these are great to use for storing.

BOOKS: Need BOOK recommendations for this summer? I just finished a HUGE 54 book list aimed at helping you become a better woman. And check out the new YouTube video where I dive deeper into 10 books that will help you become a better mama.

Healthy Popsicles: I did a bunch of research on popsicle mold and decided to go with this mold, so it’s in my cart! I am going to be making protein and electrolyte popsicles this summer. Thinking strawberries + vanilla protein powder with some maple syrup. And strawberry limeade electrolytes mixed with coconut water and frozen strawberries. I will let you know how they turn out! Use code: GIRLTEACHME10 for 10% off protein powder and electrolytes this summer ☀️

Summer Sandals: Looking for some quality handmade sandals for you and your girls? I love these from Adelisa. I have been able to get matchy-matchy ones with my girls and the quality is so good you can pass them down to the next girl. Or grab gender-neutral ones to make it easier to pass down, like I do for their boots. They are 20% off now no code needed.

Sending love,

Lana

P.S. Reply to this and tell me your FAV idea for intentionality for summer. Can’t wait to hear yours.

Pregnant P.S. Summer is the perfect time to take a birth course and knock it out. If you are pregnant you will not be sorry for taking the time to prepare for your upcoming birth. Don’t put it off one more second, so you can walk into labor at peace and be ready to go!
