Ideas for Intentionality 26/52: A Favorite Saying, Restocks, and Mom Hacks

by Taylor Barrett

Happy Friday!

I have been at 9 and 11 year-old baseball games nearly every night in 95° weather, sweating buckets, but it has been such a fun week!

One saying that I picked up recently and I’m trying to use with the kids is this…

“I love to watch you play!”

I try to make this the first thing that I say to the kids when I meet them from the dugout.

I think this sweet saying communicates love that goes beyond performance and communicates the simple delight we have in our kids separate from how they have played.

This can go way beyond baseball… I love to watch you dance, to read out loud, to sing, and do all the things our kids love to do while we watch.

Ideas for Intentionality:

Here are some things I have been learning and ways I have been staying intentional in my life as a mama, beyond the ball field this week:

Book I am Re-Reading (It is THAT good!): I picked back up Eve in Exile this week as I prepare to write a video on how important being a home focused mom is (yes! I try to do research and write for my videos, because yall’s time is valuable!) AND yall, this book is so counter-cultural and brings so much truth that it is shocking at times. They even made a documentary based on the book, here is the trailer.

NEW Neuflora June Collection Just Dropped: You will see many of the pieces sold out, but that is the fun thing about these launches. They happen once a month and have occasional restocks of certain items that eventually become bestsellers. The pieces that are still left as I write this that I love are the: Folkston Dress and Layton Top – Quilted Floral. I think the Milan Dress would be dreamy for family photos and would be great for pregnancy and nursing.

What My Kids are Loving: the kids are obsessed with these refillable water balloons – such a great sink activity or to do at a watertable. I got the boys new swim trunks in yellow and bright pink with pineapples (I like getting bright suits I can easily spot at the pool). And we got a learn to sew kit (I just started this with my 7 year old and we are both learning together – my favorite!)

Big Just Ingredients Personal Restock: My restock just came in the mail this week and I wanted to share what I regularly buy to give you an idea of my favorites:

– Raspberry Lemonade Electrolytes: It sells out often, they dry out real organic raspberries to make this flavor! So yummy!

– Multi-Vitamin and Magnesium: I bought this for my 11 year old son who needs extra support through a huge growth spurt he is going through.

– Whitening Tooth Powder: The toothpaste I love to use. It is messy, but I like that it has actual peppermint oil and that it has hydroxyapatite in it.

– Mouth Rinse: My kids mainly use this after they brush their teeth and swish and leave it on their teeth, again it coats their teeth with hydroxyapatite which helps remineralize teeth to help prevent cavities.

– Collodial Silver: There are many collodial silvers on the market but this one has the correct parts per billion that helps it be effective and then leaves your body once it has done its job. This is the mainstay of my first aid kit (great for burns and wound care) and my wellness toolbox (I spray under their tongue at the first sign of sickness).

New Youtube Videos:

You Can Be Free from Digital Addiction | 1 Year Update After Quitting Instagram:

I am sharing my journey of how I decided to quit Instagram even though I am a business owner. How it has impacted my mind, my motherhood and even my business. I am not guilting you into quitting or shaming you if you love Instagram, but providing the thoughts that have swirled around in being off for one whole year.

Grieving the Old You? How to Embrace Your New Self After Baby from Mom of 5

Do you not quite feel like yourself after having a baby? Maybe you aren’t even quite sure who you are anymore since being a mom is so intertwined into everything you do. I want to share how to embrace the new you as a mom and how perhaps the best is yet to come!

On The Blog:

How to Take a Sabbath as a Mom

This is one of the most popular posts on my blog and I think I know why. How are we as mom’s supposed to take a day off and get genuine rest?

Even more than that, God tells us that as Christians, we are to set a day apart as holy and rest. Guest writer, Jen Crowder from She is Emboldened, shares her top tips on how her whole family rests and recharges even though she works part time as a PT, has 4 small kids, and runs a whole ministry. I think you will gain so much from this blog post, I know I have!

Sending love,

Lana

P.S.

This album has been a huge help in those moments when everyone including tantrum toddlers need some regulation. I know not everyone loves Bethel and there are fair points at times for this.  But I see no issue theologically with this album and think it is beautiful and rightly named PEACE.
