Happy Friday!
January seems to be when I clean out our closets and stock up on cleaning supplies. I have been out of my cleaning products for a while. But during Christmas shopping time, who has time to think about cleaning products?
So I am realizing now I need to restock.
I also went through all of our clothes this week and purged them. The kids have too much to manage in their drawers and are growing so fast!
Baby Corrie is now two months old, which is so hard to believe! Here is her birth story in case you missed it. I am very grateful that I chose to just stay as busy as I could throughout labor. It helped a lot!
Ideas for Intentionality
Closet Decluttering Process: This is the method I use to keep clothes manageable and minimal for us all in a house with small closets. This also helps laundry stay somewhat manageable with 7 people-notice the word somewhat haha I am still growing in this area. 🙃 Here is the process in video form and blog form.
Disinfectant: I ordered 50 new Force of Nature capsules that should last me the whole year. Force of Nature is a disinfectant I have been using for years (it kills 99.9% of viruses and bacteria). I mostly use it after handling any meat. It is electrolyzed water that loses its disinfecting power after two weeks. If you want to ditch the bleach and Lysol wipes use code: GIRLTEACHME for 40% off a bundle.
Fav Outfit Lately: The home outfit that has been my jam lately is this one! It runs very small, but it is so cozy. I even wear the top out with jeans and I always get compliments. I have the dark apricot color and the apricot color in XL and I am usually a M (8-10).
Quote: I heard this quote in a class I took recently from Mollie Mason.
“Change made from shame never sticks.” This made me think of the changes I hope kids and my husband will make and how accidentally shaming them into change will never work (or shaming myself into change). Also, a reminder that shame is never how God talks to us, but instead in love and conviction.
Podcast: Children Today Are Under Relentless Supervision. This podcast was SOOO GOOD! It has rocked my world for probably the last two months. Apple link and Spotify link.
Momma Book: Balanced and Barefoot is written by the guest of the podcast I recommended above. This book is changing the way I parent and has significantly increased our time outside. I am about 3/4 the way through it, and I am a fan so far!
Children’s Book: Home in the Woods by Eliza Wheeler touched my heart so much! It challenged me that there is more strength inside me as a mama than I could have ever imagined and that I don’t need much to be an amazing mama. The same is 100% true for you! I could see the kid’s wheels turning too, seeing how much the children in the story had gone through and yet how they persevered through trials.
Diapers: EveryLife Diapers is disrupting the whole diaper industry and is the fastest-growing diaper company. The thing is they are Pro-Life and just gave 28,000 diapers to a Pregnancy Resource Center in TX. It is amazing! I love their diapers and here is a code for 10% off your first order: LANA10
I am trying out this new format for my weekly letter to you, hoping it makes it easier to read.
Please send me any ideas or suggestions for YouTube videos or this weekly letter.
I am restarting YouTube in February, so I would love to hear your pain points lately and what videos may be a help to you ❤️
Just my reminder to you. All of your work that feels hidden and forgotten by the world is seen by Jesus.
Even the dish or the shirt folded for Him is worship sweet sister, so keep going knowing how much you are loved and how valuable your work is!
Sending Love,
Lana
P.S. If you are pregnant, remember I have a birth course helping Christian mamas prepare for a natural birth. If you have any questions about it check out this page or hit respond to this email. Helping mamas take ownership of what they can control in the birthing process has been one of the greatest honors I have had. And I would love to help you on this pregnancy journey as well! ❤️
